In a survey just published by SurveyMonkey, it has discovered that almost 50% of babies due this year were conceived outside the bedroom and that nearly 1 in 5 pregancies were not planned. (in this day and age, I ask you!)

While 46% of babies were conceived in the bedroom, 9.5% were conceived on holiday and less than 1% were conceived in a car.

While the majority of baby making took place on a Saturday, only 8% of children were conceived on a Monday.

Most parents were trying to conceive for between one and three months.

The survey, which asked more than 1,000 parents-to-be about the conception of babies due in 2010, also found April was the most popular month while September was the least popular.

The most popular time was between 6pm and 10pm, with only 11.2% of babies conceived in the afternoon.
