It must be 'bash a breastsfeeding mum' month or something, as yet another woman is publicly humiliated.

Anisa Baker was in a charity shop changing room in South East London when her baby began to cry. Realising her baby was probably hungry she decided to take a few minutes to breastfeed, seeing as she was already somewhere quite private and discreet.

What she didn't expect was to see the shop manager looking through the side of the curtain and then declaring loudly "changing rooms aren't for breastfeeding".

Now I know news reports are often sensationalist so I always try to see all sides of the argument. No doubt there are reasons for this but a woman suffering from breast cancer has been refused breast milk from her local council to feed her young baby.

Dawn Hockey from Glossop had to undergo treatment for breast cancer including a mastectomy whilst she was pregnant. When her baby was finally born 7 weeks premature, the baby couldn't digest his formula milk properly so she was provided with breast milk from her local council, which frankly doesn't seem too much to ask for given everything she must have gone through.

Not only does Dawn want the breastmilk because the formula was making him sick, but obviously breastmilk can help baby with their immune system, and as she had to have chemotherapy whilst she was pregnant, it is no wonder that she is keen to ensure he is as well protected as he can be.
